Build a strong starting point
Genetics builds on ideas from introductory biology and on basic math skills. Each new topic also builds on material from earlier in the course, so recalling these foundations can make it easier to keep up as the semester progresses.
Use this practice to recall the main ideas, work a few problems, and notice any topics you may want to revisit. We will review several of these ideas in BIO 340.

Keep the preparation guide nearby
The guide includes the complete readiness check, answers, and a five-session review plan. You can also use the free OpenStax Biology 2e text when you want another explanation.
Ask about a review idea
Enter a short question about a term or process from the guide. This searches a set of prepared explanations and does not send your question anywhere. It is not a live chatbot.
Choose what you would like to practice
Each readiness check draws twelve questions from all five review areas. Retake it for a different mix, choose one topic, or try a shorter mixed set.

What to revisit
Do not try to relearn everything. Spend a little time with any topics that felt unfamiliar, work a few problems, and bring remaining questions to class.
